Gangpol & Mit

Joining forces at art-collage in Bordeaux, Gangpol & Mit are a french duo building a universe both ludic and meaningful. By mixing space-age pop and simple toy instruments with a naive imagery of european folk elements and cartoon collages they cleverly demonstrate their shared understanding of a minimal, extremely reduced language. With a rigid colour scheme, geometrical forms and psychedelic narrative, their characters explore the most diverse contexts such as table tennis, group sex or boat trips. The lo-fi contrast of electronic 8-bit music, passing from the calmest melody to the wildest noise, with hybrid visuals between deviating and contemporary graphics, create poetical live shows – or, as they themselves put it: “Sonic and visual in love”.
