Daan Botlek
Daan Botlek is an urban artist based in Rotterdam. He is known for his minimal, white-coloured characters, which often interact with the space and architecture, exploring the boundaries of geometry and physics. His work consists mainly of drawings, paintings and murals but also occasionally drifts into photography, pattern design and making objects. He considers his art to be ‘more of a way of life rather than a profession or job’, and from an early interest in cultural anthropology and human behaviour, regards artmaking as a method to ‘ask questions without expecting (or looking for) answers’.
