Black Childish

Mickaël Mehala, also known as Black Childish, is an illustrator and visual artist from Martinique based in Amsterdam. His work combines 2D and 3D techniques to create colorful, bold, and expressive images situated at the intersection of illustration, sculpture, and digital art.
Inspired by Caribbean heritage, music, and global pop culture, Black Childish creates vibrant images that come across as humorous, surreal, or poetic. By experimenting with textures, digital sculpture, and visual imperfections, the artist consciously blurs the boundaries between digital and physical media.
His work expands the possibilities of 3D art and highlights themes such as identity, cultural pride, and the representation of Afro-Diasporic communities.
