Elenia Beretta

Elenia Beretta is an Italian illustrator and author based in Berlin. Inspired by childhood explorations in forests and painting with her mother, her hand-painted illustrations meld classic picture-book and modernist painting traditions.

She has been recognised by the Society of Illustrators and the Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Competition in Shanghai and published her debut book We Love Pizza (Wir lieben Pizza!) in 2021, followed by Yours, Befana (written by Barbara Cuoghi) in 2022. She has illustrated for publications including The New York Times, Time and Vogue and publishers such as Gestalten, Topipittori and Rizzoli. In 2026, she created Spring/Summer window displays for Hermès stores across Italy.

Beretta co-founded Picturebooks Berlin, a platform for international illustrators and authors, and organises Drawing Nights Berlin, a monthly event connecting professionals and enthusiasts. She also teaches at Mimaster in Milan and the Comics School in Rome.
