Sawako Kabuki is a Japanese animator and illustrator based in Tokyo and New York. Her 2D animation is full of unpredictable transitions that flow between scenes that are unexpected yet seamless. She is known for her distinctive hand-drawn style, colors, and irreverent point of view — and a passion for butts. Sawako’s films have been selected for and awarded at international festivals including Annecy, Ottawa, Zagreb, Sundance, and SXSW. Her clients include Google, Adult Swim, Panasonic, ZEITmagazin, and Numéro TOKYO.
