Hilda Palafox

Hilda Palafox lives and works in Mexico City and has exhibited in Mexico, the US, Italy, Japan, Australia and Spain. With a foundation in graphic design, Hilda’s dedicated attention to colour and syntax finds expression through drawing, painting, ceramics and textiles. Delicate compositions, geometrical forms and voluptuous beings characterise Hilda’s imaginary scenes. She explores the body as malleable matter that transforms itself in the service of beauty and pleasure, tracing the mystery of the feminine in its struggle to balance with the physical, emotional and spiritual states of existence. Hilda’s work seeks to capture the perfect instant in a movement, defy the laws of gravity, and let the impossible take form, suspended before our eyes.
