Jean Jullien

Jean Jullien is a French artist living and working in Paris. His work pairs bold, gestural black lines and flat, vibrant colour with witty, warm-hearted observations of modern life, and spans painting, illustration, installation, books and clothing.

Clients include The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Guardian, National Geographic, SZ Magazin, Amnesty International, Apple and RCA Records. In 2016, he launched NouNou with Jae Huh, a Korea-based label producing a range of items including clothing and homeware.

He has published with Phaidon, Walker Books and Hato Press, and his first monograph (Phaidon, 2022) accompanied a retrospective at DDP Museum in Seoul.

Recent projects include his first European solo museum exhibition at MIMA in Brussels (2023), installations for the Triennial at the National Gallery of Victoria and for Public Gasan in Seoul, and, in 2025, an installation for the French pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and Juju’s Castle at NANZUKA Art Institute in Shanghai.
