Saddo
Artist and illustrator Saddo from Bucharest has a wide range of influences: French painters Henri Rousseau and Henri Matisse, British artist Grayson Perry, Iranian miniatures, Asian carpets, hip hop and urban culture. And just like a hip hop producer, Saddo samples different elements, surreal imagery, portraits of rappers, luxury cars, or brand logos into his own intricate iconography in different media: illustrations on paper, large canvases, murals, sculptures, ceramics, or tapestries. Besides his commercial work, Saddo has been part of numerous group shows all over the world, had solo shows at BC Gallery in Berlin and Mobius Gallery in Bucharest, and painted murals from Montreal to Bangkok, Paris to Rabat.
