Isolina Minjeong
Isolina Minjeong lives and works in Brooklyn. In her ceramic work, she questions cultural narratives of tradition by intricately weaving together ancient motifs and her expansive world of characters. She juxtaposes the lineages of pre-Columbian and Korean stone carving with manga imagery, lore, and mythical creatures found in Incan temples. Her figures, shameless in scale and response, honor her familial heritage while simultaneously deconstructing and redefining cultural paradigms through craft. Her work has been exhibited at NADA Miami (2023), the Spring/Break Art Show (2022), and the Tchotchke Gallery (2022), among others.
