Threadstories
Irish visual artist threadstories’ work is an interplay between craft, performance, photography, film and social media. She is questioning how the erosion of personal privacy in our digital age affects how we view and portray ourselves online. threadstories malleable textile masks are feverishly preened, animated and reworked, the same mask reinventing itself continually. Her laboriously hand crafted masks can only be seen through photography or film, using the format of selfies and short animated video clips to poke at the performative nature social media cultivates and celebrates. threadstories has exhibited in Ireland and the USA, as well as featuring in print magazine Love, Cactus and King Kong, but is most at home on Instagram.
