DOMA

Doma is an artist collective formed in 1998 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its production is characterized by a critical and biting view on reality’s absurdity. Their focus is on where contradiction and paradox reside. Their work comprises various formats and interdisciplinary collaborations harnessing different technologies. From miniature pieces to large-scale projects. Ever since their origins in urban art, collaborative work, experimentation and DIY have been the axis of their practice. During 2018 and 2019, Doma have presented their biggest exhibition to date called “Naturaleza Muerta / Nature Morte” at two main venues in Argentina, Centro Cultural Recoleta and Museo MAR. The exhibition encompasses the interdisciplinary work of more than a year’s worth production of complex site-specific works. The pieces and objects reflect on the effects of capitalism in an advanced stage, on acceptance of the ought to be and on the loss of life’s own essence. Doma collective is currently run by duo Orilo Blandini and Julian Manzelli.
