An engineer-turned-illustrator from Toronto, Hyein’s work is populated by lonesome, humble and friendly monsters, which depict melancholy moments with cuddly-toy appeal. Autobiographical in content, these intimate diary-like drawings are often a direct translation of the artist’s feelings.
